Russia Hails Test of a New Missile...

From New York Times:

MOSCOW, May 29 — Russia held a test launching of a new intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday and said it had successfully fired the weapon almost entirely across its northern airspace to the Russian Far East.

>> I would like to comment this piece of news, because it talks about a test made by the Russian army for a new missile, very powerful and devastating of course. They did this after the President of Russia, Vladimir V. Putin, chided the West for American-led plans to install an antimissile shield in Europe.

With that being said, I can see that this some sort of showing off the military power that the eastern country have for USA take it in account. In the article it said that Putin was very upset because of what American plans are. “We think it would be harmful and dangerous to turn Europe into a tinderbox and fill it with new types of armaments,” Putin said. The missile is said to be strong enough to pierce any current or even future defense shield. Also the missile traveled for more than 5,000 miles.

In addition to this, an anonymous American diplomat made some comments on the Missile Test. “This is well within the Start II treaty limitations, and they met the treaty requirements by giving us advance notice,” the diplomat said. “It’s not a matter of concern.” Alter these comments, The Kremlin went upset again and they are speaking in quite strong terms about the West.

>> Well, I chose this article because I think that these arguments about military resources and armament tests are deeply worrying. I do not want to put everybody in alarm nor is some sort of peace lover hippie speech, but I think that when very well known enemies like USA and Russia begins to show off each other their military power (in spite that USA has just answered with comments by now)and plans, to speak in strong terms about the other part criticism and bring to discussion agreed military treaties, it can lead us to something pretty pitiful.
